The Videography Journey

Why Videos?

It took me a while to figure out that I actually held inclinations towards making videos. These videos may not be sophisticated movies, documentaries, or any kind of professional work. It might just be a simple record of life. For me, that’s enough.

But why videos, not pictures or other kinds of medias? In my opinion, capturing life and events through video is always a more authentic way. Technological advancements have made it possible for everyone to produce videos at an affordable cost, so why not embrace this privilege?

I must admit I still feel very annoyed when editing tons of clips 🙁

Five Minutes of Helplessness:
My earliest filming years.

This was one of my earliest works of producing videos, at the age of 11. I made this short film to blame my ThinkPad for being stuck when I used it. No other purposes. I even attempted to imitate the silent film style of Charlie Chaplin.

Why include this film here at the top? Despite its extreme immaturity, this film suggests that I may have had a knack for film production since my earliest years. At least I think so. Good to know.

Documentaries: Seriously Done.

I started to document my research and understanding of a place through documentary filmmaking since 2023. In reality, what I care more about is the deep engagement with the local people, events, and environment. Documentaries are merely a means of presentation.

Individual Projects

Sometimes I create videos for special purposes,
purposes that I truly care about.

Vlogs

At some occasions I make videos intuitively. As always, Just for Fun.

Movie Mashups

Personally I have my favorite films, and that’s why these videos exist.
